Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe

OklikShare - Chicken tikka masala is a dish of marinated and broiled chunks of chicken in a creamy, spice-infused tomato sauce. Alongside the requisite basmati rice, buttered peas, and naan, it makes a fabulous family feast. This version is terrific for entertaining since it can be made entirely ahead of time — and it’s also a great intro to Indian food for kids, as it’s not too spicy.

For a dish with such complex flavors, chicken tikka masala is surprisingly easy to make: one hour start to finish, plus just an hour of marinating time. Most of the ingredients are pantry and fridge staples, with the exception of garam masala, a fragrant Indian spice blend typically made from peppercorns, mace, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and nutmeg.

Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 4 pieces of chicken breast
  • 1 onion
  • 3 garlic
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro
  • 3 tomatoes, diced
  • 2 pieces of green cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 cm cinnamon
  • 4 clove seeds
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 5 cilantro leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika powder
  • 1 lemon
  • Salt / flavoring to taste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 8 tablespoons of yogurt
  • 4 tablespoons of double cream
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
  1. Chicken breast is washed with lemon juice and rub with yogurt, turmeric powder, cumin, ginger, garlic. After that, put it in the refrigerator for more than 1 hour, it is better to leave it overnight.
  2. Finely chop onions, diced tomatoes, puree ginger, garlic, red chili, cilantro, nutmeg, black pepper.
  3. Heat oil for sauteing. First, put the bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, cumin, cardamom, saute for a while, then add the onions, spices, stir-fry until slightly brownish in color. After that, put tomatoes and tomato paste. Mix well, give enough water and cover using medium heat until it thickens.
  4. Remove the chicken from the refrigerator. Bake the chicken until cooked but do not dry it too much or put it in the oven at 200 C for 20 minutes.
  5. After the chicken is cooked, diced or another option, use a skewer to make it easier to burn. Then put it in the tikka masala sauce, add salt, flavor it, sugar a little, mix well.
  6. Finally add double cream and yogurt and taburin the cilantro on the surface of the sauce. Chicken tika masala is ready to be served.
